'Hello, I'm Still Here" - Phase 2

The time has come for the railings to be unwrapped!

'Hello, I'm Still Here' was a temporary installation as part of the New Mills Festival Woolly Wander which is now over, for this year at least.

Over the next few days I will be unwrapping the railings. Each piece of fabric will be kept and used to create another piece of work.

My intention is to create a ball of yarn from the fabric, this will involve plaiting, braiding, stitching and knotting. The messages that are hidden within the railings will become hidden within the ball of yarn. Everything will be kept together and and become the next phase of  'Hello, I'm Still Here'.

Below are some key words that will be considered during the process.

Metamorphosis:
• a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into completely different one, by natural     or supernatural means

Evolve:
develop gradually, esp. from a simple to a more complex form• develop over successive generations, esp. as a result of natural selection
Recycle: convert (waste) into reusable material.• return (material) to a previous stage in a cyclic process.• use again
When completed the work will be displayed locally.
Keep checking here for news, photographs and workshop opportunities.
