New Mills Festival - Railing Wrap - day 3

A BIG THANK YOU to all the members of the public who joined in and contributed to the wrap on the Wednesday session. It's great to hear everyone's tales from the Torrs and weave them into the railings. Snippets of the words can be glimpsed between the bars.........

Different fabrics are appearing.......

The installation can now be noticed from different areas in the Torrs and compliments the surroundings, much of the fabric used is cotton and the long history of Torr Vale Mill's cotton industry has been woven in. Thank you to the Heritage Centre for supplying the information. 


Someone noticed the wrap from Union Road bridge and came down to find out more.

One more thank you to all who took part on Wednesday, don't forget to look for your work in the finished installation, and bring your family and friends to see it. 

You are welcome to bring your own special fabrics along and add at any time.

I will be on site again Thursday morning from 10am-12pm and the Art Students will be working with me through the afternoon.
