Alexandra Park Primary School Centenary Quilt

A quilt to celebrate the 100th birthday of Alexandra Park Primary School in Edgely

For this project we wanted to look back on 100 years of history whilst at the same time celebrate the lively atmosphere of the school today.

The quilt top is made entirely from scrap fabrics. Each child created a piece of work  that is included in the final design. The children used a range of traditional and contemporary textile craft techniques. Each small piece is an original work of art. 


The Quilt was unveiled by the Mayor of Stockport during the school's 100th birthday celebrations in June 2012.
